Being an aunt is probably one of the coolest things that I've been able to experience, and I'm proud to say I am one, times 4! Seeing my big brothers become Dads is an amazing thing...and I'm so glad that I'm able to share in their happiness. I'm so excited to introduce my new nephew AND niece-born 12 days apart!

Another year of photographing this beautiful family. Its amazing looking back at the years of photos I've done of these kids and seeing how they have changed from children, to young adults. Each year gets easier as they listen more, and care a bit more about how they look. They go from having round chubby faces to slim, more mature outlines. It all happens so quickly and I'm glad I was around to capture these moments in time!

I recently got to photograph Molly, the daughter of a very good friend of mine. I once read somewhere that when people hear the name "Molly" they think of a "kind and down to earth person." I have a feeling this little one is going to be just like that-she was totally calm, cool, and collected through her entire shoot! She even gave me little smiles just to humor me. Not to mention her parents are very kind and down to earth so everyone wins! :)

I have no excuses for my lack of posting over the past (ah hem) year or so. Thank you to all of you that check this blog and have been harassing me to update. This is for you! :)

I went over my brothers house this evening to snap some family photos for something he is working on. Its only been a few weeks since I last saw Katelyn last, but since then she has more hair, bigger teeth, and is starting to take steps. Collin, on the other hand, is growing older too. He's going to be 13, and is almost taller then me. I have totally turned into that aunt that says "I remember when you...." and then completing the sentence with an embarrassing story. Poor kid.
It has been so fun being such a part of his life and I'm looking forward to watching Katelyn grow up too. I'm so grateful to be able to document their lives as much as I have. I love them so much! <3

I had a great shoot today, and couldn't wait to post a couple of favorite pictures. Not only was it a gorgeous day, but I had an adorable model to work with! This is Robbie. He just turned two yesterday and he LOVES trucks. We went to the park this morning, and every time a truck drove by Robbie would give a big smile and clearly name the type of truck it was. Dumptrucks, delivery trucks, mail trucks, etc. This kid is the sweetest thing, and I had a great morning with him and his mom...and his Mimi too!

I shot this wedding about a month ago up in the middle of New Hampshires White Mountains. I've know the groom my entire life, and it was nice to see such a sweet compliment to him in his new wife. There was a lot of love and laughter in the air that certainly warmed up the chilly evening. Enjoy the photos!

I went over to visit Miss Katelyn the other night and decided to bring my camera along. I'm SO happy I did. She was so excited to see me, which was a big change from my previous visits. Katelyn went through a little phase where she would cry everytime she saw me. No one else, just me. Needless to say, we're friends again, and I couldn't be happier. How freakin' cute is this kid?!

Happy 2009!

Now that the holidays are done at the studio I have time to shoot for myself again! I did a shoot with my niece and nephew last weekend and had a ball. Collin is an old pro by now, and Miss Katelyn is getting quite used to my camera being in her face. She has such a great personality and it really doesn't take much for her face to light up and her big belly laugh to come out.

I've also been playing around with some digital scrapbook elements that I found at digitalscrapbookpages.com. So fun!

I truly apologize for my lack of blogging this month! Suzanne and Doug got married last month and I have been working on their pictures pretty much non-stop since then. I'm finally done and I'm feeling great!
It was a pleasure doing this wedding. I always get a vibe from couples who really are in sync with one another. They are comfortable around each other and their smiles are genuine because they are truly happy. I really felt that these two got it right...and I wish them nothing but the best! I thank them for letting me be a part of their special day :)

Tonight I took some time to go through my computer and give it a good cleaning. I've realized that my tendency to keep EVERYTHING not only applies to physical objects, but also to the random things I've aquired througout the three years of having my computer. Quotes, icons, pictures of my friends, random phone numbers, word documents...its rediculous.

I found these pictures of Ian buried deep in a folder. I took them a little over a year ago and had totally forgotten about them. I made this collage for his parents and thought it really caputured his little personality during that time of his life. I've only seen Ian once since then, which is insane because he has a new little sister that I still haven't met!

I can't wait for the spring! I was driving today and noticed that my world is covered in snow. Its stuck on the trees so it makes everything around me white and cold. So heres some color! Okay I'm back in action. Many apologies to those of you who look at this blog and have been disappointed at my lack of attention to it. The holiday season at Portrait Simple is now over, so I have more time to shoot and post! I have big plans for 2008, so tell your friends!

I did this wedding on New Years Eve with Meg. The couple was super sweet and their families were so much fun! If I was going to be working on New Years, I'm glad it was for a very entertaining group of people!

I was "tagged" by Miss Dorie of Dorie Lynn Photography (www.dorielynnphotography.blogspot.com) and had to come up with 8 little known facts about myself. It was fun, thanks Dor! At first I didn't think that I could come up with that many, but the more I got into it, the more I thought of! I'm suppose to tag some more people, but like Meg said, Dorie already tagged everyone that I would have. Oh well! Enjoy!!

1. I drink a medium iced coffee (sometimes flavored) with an extra shot of espresso every morning. In the winter I just get it hot.

2. I hate gum. I ESPECIALLY dislike ABC gum. I cringe if you feel the need to play with it outside of your mouth and I just might throw up if you put it on the side of your plate while you eat.

3. I lived in a big blue house (like, grover blue) while attending photo school. And I miss it.

4. My boyfriend has to sleep with a fan on every night, and now, after almost two years, so do I... even if hes not next to me.

5. Mortadella is my favorite cold cut. For those of you who dont know what that is, it kind of tastes like bologna and has chunks of white fat in it. (sounds delicious huh?) My family owns an Italian deli/catering company so I was pretty much fed it for breakfast. Haha. It still tastes just as wonderful as it did when I was five.

6. I love reality television. I can't help it. Usually its the really bad stuff too.

7. I could eat chips and salsa and/or popcorn every day for the rest of my life and be happy.

8. I feel like I'm truly a gemini. In the good ways and bad.

...and because this is my PHOTO blog, I had to post something. I found this picture while going through old photos. I didn't like the photo at the time, but now I think its kinda cool. I find that happens with me often. I hate most of the pictures I take, but when I revisit them months later, they aren't so bad after all! This is a cute little red chair/footstool from Megs apartment. I really like the how the lighting looks and I'm digging the color. See you all soon! xoxo

My cousin Jason and his girlfriend Christina just brought a new little life into this world...and into our crazy family! They stopped by this weekend to introduce Aiden to his great-Nana, and I really couldn't help but take some pictures. When he first arrived he was fast asleep, and it took us over and hour to wake the little man up. It was definitely worth it because he was alert and posing for the rest of the afternoon. I'm excited to have a new face in the family, and a new life to document. A big welcome to Aiden David Teixeira and much love to Jay and Christina! xoxo

My Nana turned 90 this weekend. How crazy is that? When I think about how many years shes been alive and how much she has seen the world change...it blows my mind. We had a party for her on Saturday, and it was so moving to see how many friends and family showed up to wish her a Happy Birthday. I took a lot of pictures of the party, and a lot of just her...I really felt this one represented Nana in all her Nana-ness.

Now that I've finshed up with the wedding pictures, its time to move on to all the other shoots I've been busy with!

These kids are Darien (you may recognize her from my very first blog post), Dustin, Dylan and Tyler. When you get them all together their sibling powers definitely combine and make a very busy day! They are great kids, and I love every minute that I get to hang out with them all together! Including their mom and dad!

I combined the pictures into a collage for this post as kind of an experiment. I think I like it!

I apologize for my lack of blogging this past month...I've been busy with a million things (shoots included) but find there just aren't enough hours in the day to fit everything in! I can definitely thank Meg for getting on me about updating my blog though! Thanks darling!

I love these shots. Kellie was a great model because shes so pretty. The looks she has on her face are just so peaceful and warm....

This past Sunday I had the pleasure of being on set during the filming of Birdcage Riot's first music video (check them out at www.myspace.com/birdcageriot). It was pretty cool to see how everything happens behind the scenes. The best part was that the set was lit so perfectly! Basically all I had to do was compose the shot. It was a very long day, but totally worth it in the end!

This is Maeve. Look at those curls! I thought we were going to get rained out of our photoshoot last week, but fortunately we had a beautiful interior to work with as our Plan B. We were able to go outside in between the rain showers to grab some shots as well! This little girl has so much personality, and we had a great time. I can't belive how big she is. I shot her mother when she was pregnant with Maeve.... Time sure does fly!

Two of my good friends (and AMAZING photographers), Meg and Dorie, have been using this blogspot for quite sometime now. It's always fun for me to check in and see what they've been up to, so I figured it might be fun for other people to do the same with me.

I'm a full-time childrens photographer, and absolutely love what I do. I dabble in other things, but working with children and capturing their little personalities is truly my passion.

I'm going to start my blog with some pictures I took of Darien for her dance recital. She had 7 costumes...and I took over 100 pictures! I've posted SOME of my favorites, and a couple of Tyler (her younger brother) who is just too cute to keep a camera away from.
